Loudspeakers Toastmasters — a public speaking club in Lebanon
Loudspeakers is a Toastmasters International club based in Zouk Mikael, Keserwan, about twenty minutes north of Beirut. We meet every Wednesday at 7:45 pm in the theater of the Zouk Mikael Municipality to practise public speaking, communication and leadership together.
Among the Toastmasters clubs in Lebanon, Loudspeakers is the leading club — and guests are always welcome, free of charge. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to prepare: come and watch, or stand up during Table Topics and try a minute of impromptu speaking on a question you have never seen before.
What happens at a meeting
A meeting runs about 90 minutes. Members deliver prepared speeches from their Toastmasters Pathways projects, everyone joins the impromptu Table Topics section, and trained evaluators give each speaker warm, specific feedback. A Timer keeps the evening on schedule and a Grammarian gives us a Word of the Day. We close by voting for Best Speaker, Best Table Topics and Best Evaluator.
